The Bath

The bath has turned cold

The taps coughs out ice blocks

Good for soaking nothing

If I was a six pack or tub of ice cream

It would be fine

If I wanted to be frozen for millennia

And wake up an artifact

I wouldn’t mind

As things are

I want the bath to melt me to liquid

To boil me to vapor

So that I can escape through a window

And rise to the sun

I Left You

I left you as certain stars leave the sky

Only to return on the darkest of nights

Because there was love there

I left you as a tear leaves the eye

Diminishing as it sheds a trail

Because there was love there

I left you my earth, my gravity

Because there was love there

And I was afraid of falling
