The Invisible Painting

Come one, come all,

Come see the invisible painting

For a small fee you too can behold

The absence on the wall

It is the work of a great artist

The only one of its kind in existence

Naturally no one can touch so rare a painting

But that does not detract from its magnificence

Doubters come see for yourselves

The empty frame

Note the artist’s mastery of concealment

How all the lines and colours and shades

Combine to create perfect transparency

Become so lost in the work as to forget

That you are looking at a painting at all

Oh yes, my friends, you too can say

You have seen the invisible painting

But only for a price
